Lush Cosmetics
A Closed-Loop Solution. LUSH wanted a closed-loop solution for their iconic black pots. Not only did they want to use 100% PCR plastic but ocean plastics as well. This was an industry first in cosmetics, so naturally, they came across countless barriers when looking for injection molders who would take on the project.
We took on the challenge and created award-winning sustainable packaging for LUSH. We helped them find, source and create a reliable PCR plastic stream. Not only that, but we created a closed-loop return system for their customers to return used containers. With help from Ocean Legacy, we were able to make their iconic black pots with PCR and ocean plastic waste. With LUSH, we were able to create one of the few truly circular manufacturing models that exist at this scale.
Cove West
On-shoring production as cost-effective (if not more!) than overseas. Cove West had been using an overseas injection molder as they were previously unable to find a domestic partner who could match the cost. However, having their production overseas meant they had to carry 12 weeks worth of inventory to manage supply chain disruptions and changes in demand. We knew we could offer them a better solution.
By creating a more cost-effective part design and manufacturing process, we were able to reduce their production costs, demystifying their beliefs that overseas production was the most cost effective. In fact, we were able to create a savings of over $100k per annum compared to their overseas rates. We achieved these savings not only through more cost effective product production and by de-risking their supply chain and lessening their inventory needs.
Chemical Guys
On-shoring production to reduce risk of overseas production. Chemical Guys approached us with a distinct interest in bringing their production onshore, as they had been experiencing significant complications with overseas production including high tariffs and major disruptions to their supply chain. They needed an onshore production partner with a large machine size, who could reliably meet their production needs and manage the transition from overseas to domestic production without interruption to their supply chain.
Smoothly transitioning from overseas to domestic production, we were able to not only eliminate the tariffs and supply chain issues they were experiencing with overseas production, but also achieved their cost management goals. With our large machines, Plascon produces 150k parts per month for Chemical Guys.
